Floral Installations Masterclass

During my floral career, I’ve witnessed huge changes in the industry—not just in the flowers and materials we use, but in how we approach design and construction. With this in mind, I’m thrilled to invite you to a very special hands-on masterclass, in collaboration with Naomi from Paintbox Blooms, using her beautiful British-grown flowers cultivated at East Chase Farm.

With her support, we will guide you through a hands-on day of large-scale floral installations. This workshop combines practical guidance, creative inspiration, and the unique charm of the venues to create a truly collaborative and inspiring experience.

What you’ll experience:

• Hands-on large-scale floral design with an abundance of British-grown flowers and foliage, alongside select imported blooms
   
• Learn to build foam-free installations, including broken arches, stairway designs, and table scapes  (designs dependent on date)
   
• Full-day immersive workshop in a private, inspirational setting
   
• Plan and collaborate with like-minded florists and flower enthusiasts
   
• Professional photos of your installations by Hannah Carter Orton, including optional portfolio portrait shots
   
• Networking and socialising throughout the day
   
• Take-home booklet covering materials, stem count, pricing, flower and foliage selection, and mechanics
   
• Expert guidance and support from both myself and Naomi
   

The day begins with coffee and pastries, followed by an exploration of the mechanics behind foam-free installations and how to incorporate them into your own designs.

The majority of the day will be hands-on, creating the floral installations for the session. Naomi will give a talk later in the day on British flowers, covering seasonality, growing, and how to select the best blooms for your creations.

Refreshments and cake will be provided throughout the day, but students are asked to bring a packed lunch. A full itinerary will be shared with participants closer to the workshop.

This workshop is designed as a collaborative, hands-on experience, bringing together my 33 years of floral expertise and Naomi’s knowledge of British-grown flowers. The beautiful farm venues—East Chase Distillers and Wildflower Events Field, run by her husband—make this an inspiring, creative, and truly unique day for all participants.
